I am not great at DNFing books, but sometimes it is necessary. If I don’t like a book I find myself procrastinating. I have discovered it is best to chalk up the loss and move on. Here are the books I DNFED in 2019

To be fair, I did not read many chapters of this. The writing style is very descriptive and I would lose interest. I did enjoy parts of it, so I might pick it up at a later date.

I picked this one up on a whim while in Nashville. The synopsis listed everything I look for in a book. However, I found it really slow. I couldn’t connect with the characters. Halfway through I just wanted it to be over.

I don’t really know why I did not finish this one. The writing was engaging and the story was beautiful. At the time I was reading it just wasn’t what I wanted.

I picked this one up after finishing the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. I couldn’t wait to jump into another Beauty and the Beast retelling. There was so much hype around this one and I expected to love it. When I found out that I didn’t I was really disappointed.

Of course the thing that drew me into this book was the promise of witches. I got about halfway through and didn’t have the witchy vibes I wanted. It definitely focused more on the romance aspects. I am not a lover of romance books, so it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
Let me know in the comments if you have read any of these. Should I give them a second try? Come back tomorrow for my Disappointing Reads of 2019. I am getting all the negative posts out of the way so we can start the new year fresh and positive.
