Books I Have Been Meaning to Read

Now that I have completed the Modern Mrs. Darcy Reading challenge and my Goodreads challenge for the year, my new goal is to catch up on my physical TBR. These are some books that I have bought that I have not read yet. I am hoping to read them before the end of the year.

I read Stalking Jack the Ripper last summer. I really enjoyed it. I picked this one up on a whim. I really want to catch up to this series, especially since it is completed.

Goodreads synopsis: Following the grief and horror of her discovery of Jack the Ripper’s true identity, Audrey Rose Wadsworth has no choice but to flee London and its memories. Together with the arrogant yet charming Thomas Cresswell, she journeys to the dark heart of Romania, home to one of Europe’s best schools of forensic medicine…and to another notorious killer, Vlad the Impaler, whose thirst for blood became legend.

But her life’s dream is soon tainted by blood-soaked discoveries in the halls of the school’s forbidding castle, and Audrey Rose is compelled to investigate the strangely familiar murders. What she finds brings all her terrifying fears to life once again.

I’ve noticed a theme is this post. I have a few unfinished series that I need to read. This one is yet another sequel. I read A Discovery of Witches quite awhile ago. I enjoyed it even though it did feel a little slow in some spots. I want to read this one because it incorporates time travel as well.

Goodreads Synopsis: Picking up from A Discovery of Witches’ cliffhanger ending, Shadow of Night takes Diana and Matthew on a trip through time to Elizabethan London, where they are plunged into a world of spies, magic, and a coterie of Matthew’s old friends, the School of Night. As the search for Ashmole 782 deepens and Diana seeks out a witch to tutor her in magic, the net of Matthew’s past tightens around them, and they embark on a very different—and vastly more dangerous—journey.

Lastly, I need to catch up on the Outlander series. For some reason, when I purchased these I bought the entire series. I don’t usually do that because I am afraid I won’t love the books. I fell out of love with romance after I started this series so I didn’t have the desire to keep reading. However, for some reason I feel led to pick up the next book and read it.

*********SPOILER***********

Goodreads review: From the author of Outlander… a magnificent epic that once again sweeps us back in time to the drama and passion of 18th-century Scotland…

For twenty years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to Scotland’s majestic mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones …about a love that transcends the boundaries of time …and about James Fraser, a Scottish warrior whose gallantry once drew a young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his ….

Now a legacy of blood and desire will test her beautiful copper-haired daughter, Brianna, as Claire’s spellbinding journey of self-discovery continues in the intrigue-ridden Paris court of Charles Stuart …in a race to thwart a doomed Highlands uprising …and in a desperate fight to save both the child and the man she loves….

If you have read any of these let me know your thoughts in the comments! I hope to have these finished before the end of the year. Some of these are thick though so my fingers are crossed.
